“Anna Juhl built Cheese Journeys around a simple, radical idea: that the best way to understand a place is to sit at the table of the people making it. Her tours don’t just visit cheese producers, they champion them. They put their cheese and their stories in front of travelers who go home and ask for them by name. That’s how small, brilliant producers stay in business. That’s how regional craft survives.

Working with her, and with the chefs behind the pairing menu, reminded me why I do this. A glass of wine isn’t a glass of wine. It’s a vineyard, a family, a year of weather, a decision someone made about how to live. Pair it with the right cheese, the right plate, the right room, and suddenly people don’t just taste it. They remember it.”

Alsace, France Cheese Journey - September 30-October 9, 2027

Join Cheese Journeys Founder and Owner Anna Juhl with her team on a personalized grand tour of Alsace, Anna’s home away from home. Nestled against Germany and Switzerland, this charming region of France is known for its half-timbered houses overflowing with window boxes, its award-winning wines, cheeses, and sausages, along with divine breads and pastries. Fancy a great glass of Riesling and a hearty meal of choucroute, followed by a luscious wedge of Munster? Look no further than Alsace, which has been making this famous cheese since the 7th century!

You’ll stay in castle-like accommodations with stunning views overlooking Colmar, enjoy regional dishes prepared by our private chefs, and explore the Alsatian wine route in style with Grand Cru tastings and stops to meet premier producers. Anna will also introduce you to her favorite spots around Strasbourg, from markets and bakeries to the town’s local cheese shop, La Cloche, which has a glass-domed cheese table so large that it appears in the Guinness Book of World Records!

With daytrips, cooking classes, and private tastings, you’ll explore Alsace in a way few travelers ever do, with behind-the-scenes tours and Cheese Journeys’ five-star hospitality. Pick up a French tablecloth from Beauvillé linens in Ribeauville, descend into a cave below Strasbourg for a world-class meal with locals, enjoy a “cheese ceremony” at Fromagerie Antony where they age cheese to perfection and serve them at peak ripeness in an exquisite wood-lined tasting room.

If you love wine, cheese, beer, antiques, flowers, and culinary experiences, join us for this long-awaited exploration of Rhine River culture. Fly into Paris, and join us for a tour kick-off in Strasbourg, then let us whisk you away for a 10-day food adventure of a lifetime!
